About two weeks ago I was given the pleasure to DJ beside my favourite dubstep godfather Pinch. Most known for his founding of Tectonic records out of the UK few producers have matched his style and determination to bring new sounds to vinyl. We've had tons of DJ's pass through Modern Math but few who happily would sign my laptop and give me advice as a young producer to the craft. Big ups.
Pinch has a new 12" coming out on Swamp 81 near the end of this month. The title track Croydon House is a bold move away from the current trend of dubstep and takes a rather deep move into the dubbed out futuristic soundscape of Uk-Funky and Deep House. As the game begins to grow stale, its really nice to see a producer who was there at the beginning pushing the sound to the next level. The Track i have below that is his smash 2010 hit thats been on most dubstep DJ's short list, the Boxer. It's heavy in the biblical which again is a really fresh take on some of dubsteps more recent happier jams.
